Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a DIYer really install this?
Yes, with honest preparation. If you can grind or acid-etch the slab, mix by drill and keep a wet edge with a roller, the 1:1 kit is within reach of a careful first-timer. The instructions assume no experience, and application questions get answered by phone before and during your install.
How is this different from a big-box epoxy kit?
Chemistry and quantity. Big-box kits are thin water-based epoxy stretched over optimistic coverage claims. WatchGuard kits are 100 percent solids polyurea with three to five times the abrasion resistance, real chip coverage to refusal, and an aliphatic topcoat that does not yellow in sunlight.
Will hot tires peel it?
No, hot tire pickup is an adhesion failure, and it is the specific weakness polyurea was chosen to eliminate. Applied over properly profiled concrete per the TDS, the bond exceeds the cohesive strength of the slab itself.
How soon can I use the floor?
Foot traffic in 8 to 12 hours, vehicles and full service at 24 hours in normal conditions. The 2:1 system can compress that further for industrial schedules.
What slab prep is required?
Clean, dry, profiled concrete: diamond grinding preferred, quality etch acceptable for DIY garages. Moisture-heavy slabs get a tolerant primer first. If you send photos and a few details, we will assess prep before you order.
Do you offer an installer or dealer program?
Yes. Professional installers get volume pricing tiers, priority chip blending, net terms and leads passed from this site in their region. Ask for the installer program sheet through the contact form.
More Floor Questions?
From moisture tests to chip colors, ask before you order. Guessing is expensive at floor scale.
